A Visit with Martin Reed of I Love Blue Sea

When I visited San Francisco recently, I had the chance (and a privilege it was) to visit with Martin Reed of ILoveBlueSea.com at his warehouse situated right on the Bay.

I first became acquainted with Martin when I organized the LAHelpsLA tasting event in support of Gulf of Mexico restoration. Because of his concern for the health of our oceans and waters, he decided to sponsor our event and generously donated fish for LaFujimama's  sushi station. I Love Blue Sea (Martin is so cute- he says it to rhyme with "I Love Lucy") sells only sustainable and environmentally friendly seafood online- so no matter where you are in the country, you, too, can buy his great seafood. I ordered some halibut and striped sea bas when I returned to L.A. It arrived the morning after I ordered it via FedEx, for a Mediterranean fish soup I was making (I'll share the recipe soon) and it was wonderful!

BTW, the video was shot by my friend, Keith Criss of Tradigitalworks.com. While I was unfortunately not able to partake because I so busy feasting throughout the rest of the weekend at the Foodbuzz Festival, Keith took the black cod Martin gave us, and cooked it in his onolicious (i.e. yummy!) Hawaiian style- so check out his recipe, too.

Bon Appetit!
